SET(0) online from queries

Post by Techguru999 » Sat Dec 29, 2018 12:24 pm

Hi Everyone,
I am filling up SET(O) online application form. Got confused to answer couple of questions. I cant effort to fill incorrect in the application form, so thought to post my own question explaining my own situation and get some suggestions.

1. When did you first enter the UK?
My situation: I first came to UK as a student and left on completion of my studies, then came back back on PSW after 1 year and converted to Tier-1 with in the UK.
Should I answer actually first came to UK as a student or current period of residence technically started when I came on PSW or approval of my tier-1 initial application with in the UK

2. Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?
My situation: I visited my home country on 4 weeks holiday. Is that comes under 'living' or 'visiting'? Should I mentioned that 4 weeks period or should I omit it.

your suggestions will be much appreciated, I hope every one have nice festive time. Advance happy new year to all of you.

Thanks in advance

As per my understanding the answer for the above question should be all the years you lived in your home country before coming to UK, (you need to select Yes then it will asked you about the years so then put accordingly - see following)
Suppose if you came to UK on 2012 (at the age of 25) , then answer of this question should be yes and then 25 years .
Also wait for the (senior member/ recently who have applied through this new system) to comment.

OP clearly says 4 weeks. 4 weeks is not living there! He was living living in UK at that time and only visiting home for 4 weeks

I think you miss understood the question , see following link for reference:

The answer is YES obviously as you have lived elsewhere, i.e. your country of birth. Change it by hand on the printout of your online form.

If Op born here then he don't need ILR , because he is already british, but this question is related to his previous living including his country of birth.

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong

Obviously the answer is YES. Lets say OP lived in home country from 1987-2012. Yes that he has to mention. Lets say he moved to UK in 2012. Then visited home country for 4 weeks after 2012. He need NOT mention these 4 weeks. This is what my assumption was and my answer was based on as I thought OP is asking something similar to this.
