Citizenship for uk born child of EEA National

Post by danishcj » Fri Dec 28, 2018 12:42 pm

Hi all,

Here's my situation:
Nationality: Italian
Living in UK since: Jul 2009

I moved to UK in 2009 with family, I was 16ish at the time.
I did get enrolled in college for 3 years, after which I was offered a place at University from 2012-2016

My son was born in Sept 2018 and I have a made an application for Treaty Rights Passport.

HM Passport Office got back to me requesting further documentation, all of which I have now with me except the CSI (Comprehensive Sickness Insurance)

I never knew I would require this or it even existed as requirement. After reading few online posts I found out that it is necessary for EU Students or EU Self-Sufficients. My situation is a bit different as I moved with my family and we did apply for a EEA permanent residence certificate in 2010 which then expired in 2014 but wasn't renewed. Further during my Uni studies I was self-sufficient relying completely on part-time work and student loans, prior to which I relayed on my parents as I was underage.

P.s D did have a European Health Insurance card issued by Italian Authorities which expired in 2014 but I do not have the expired card anymore on me and wasn't renewed as I was living in UK on permanent basis.

what do you reckon I should do?

Many thanks in advance

Between 2009 and your 21st birthday, was either of your parents resident in the UK and exercising treaty rights?

When did you start working in the UK?

How did yoru father exercise treaty rights? Did he work? If so, do you have documentary proof of the same?

After your 21ts birthday, did you remain dependent on your father? Is there documentary proof of that (bank tranfers, etc)?

and yes he's been working as self employed, and should have the yearly accounts.
