Council tax

Post by htid » Tue Jan 01, 2019 3:10 pm

Hi, happy new year to everybody!

I hope this is a quick one. I'm a British citizen living in rented accommodation (for 2 years). My girlfriend is a Chinese citizen living in China and we hope to marry so she can come here. She said she has been doing research and to get a spousal visa, we would need a council tax bill listing both our names. I've never heard anything about this and the council tax is paid by my landlord, I just give him the money.

There's nothing in the spousal visa application stating we have to show council tax bill with both our names on it right?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

No you don't. The joint cohabitation evidence is only required for a spouse extension after the first 2.5 year visa.
