ILR 10 years route - dependant

Post by Pam345 » Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:10 pm

Hi everyone,

Seeking advice for my settlement situation, appreciate if you can help.

I’m going to apply for ILR 10 year route, but my wife is dependant on my tier 2 work visa and need another 6 months to complete 10 years.

She has valid dependant visa until March 2020. Does she have to switch to another type of visa after my ILR acceptance and what type if so?
Alternatively, Is it possible for her to continue with the current visa and apply for settlement in 6 month time independently?

Your help is highly appreciated
Thanks

If she has no travel plans out of the UK, she can stay on her current visa.

Yes, provided she does not travel out of the UK and then applies for 10 years long residence ILR if she meets all the standard requirements.
