Passport Validity

Hi, my passport expires in April 2020 but I will be applying for a tier 2 dependent visa this month (Jan 2019). Will my passport visa expiration be an issue for my application?

The solicitor we are using has made it sound like it isn't but I just want to be sure as I've read online my passport needs to be valid for the entirety of my stay. Is it not an issue because I really only receive a 30 day visa to collect my BRP?

Thank you CR001. You have been so helpful in answering my many questions :D . My sponsor's company has supplied a solicitor so I shouldn't be so concerned but we are on a tight deadline so I have wanted to make sure we aren't missing anything that can delay it further.
