Hi all, looking for some help.
Me and my Australian wife have been together 9 years, married for 7 and I have been living in Aus for the last 7 years. We now want to come to the UK.
I have been self employed in Aus and plan on doing the same in the UK so I will not have a job offer earning over the amount required. We are both 30 years old so I believe my wife can get a youth mobility visa up until her 31st birthday and then we can apply for a spouse visa in the UK once we satisfy the earnings criteria.
Does anyone think there will be any problems with this? I have read it may create issues as her initial intention on entering the country was to remain. We don’t want to be apart while applying as the whole process can be a bit of a nightmare I have read.
Alternatively we could probably get a spouse visa showing genuine savings as we almost have over £62,500 required however we do not want to wait a further 6 months before applying.
So initially I think the quickest way of getting over is a youth mobility then apply for a spouse visa while in the UK. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?
Thanks.
