Spouse Visa

Post by gafencu » Thu Jan 03, 2019 4:06 pm

Next year my wife (hong kong citizen) and I (british citizen) would like to move to UK.

I am UK born, British citizen but have been living away for 20 years and am non resident and have lost domicile, but have:

- a UK address - signed tenancy agreement, so can prove 'adequate accommodation'

- 62,500GBP cash savings in my UK account (I will not have a UK employment contract)

Can I apply for a spouse visa for my wife and complete the process while both of us are outside the UK?

If the visa is granted am I required to accompany my wife on the day of her arrival in the UK - or are we permitted to travel separately/on different dates?

Further, would my wife's visa be invalidated if I were to fail to join her in the UK by a specific date?

Thank you

Have savings of at least £62,500 been held in the UK account for at least six months?

Yes, savings will have been in the account for more than a year by the time the application is lodged.
