UK Spouse visa Supporting documents not submitted at appointment

Post by mdawood91 » Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:20 pm

Hi,

I am in the UK and applying for my wife's spouse Visa for her to come to the UK.

I filled in the online application form and paid the Immigration Health service and application fee online.

Today she had an appointment at the VFS global office in Islamabad, Pakistan.

They sent an email with a list of supporting documents to be submitted, my wife took all required documents along with her to the VFS office, but the agent didn't seem to take any documents from her (neither where they scanned). So no supporting documents where submitted with the application (only her PK passport).

What should I do now? Do they ask for these documents at a later stage? How can they be submitted now?

Regards

Did you buy additional VFS courier service to send documents ?

Did you receive UKVI email instruction & Sheffield address to send the documents? Double check the email and read them carefully.

You have tagged your question onto the end of a member's thread which has no relevance to your situation. This is not only unfair to the other member, but also causes confusion.

No I haven't paid for VFS courier service.

Reference: UKVI_**************

This email confirms the amount paid and the application's reference number. We cannot provide an invoice, but this email provides confirmation that we have received your payment.

So my wife went to the appointment with requested "supporting documents", but the agent at the office didn't take the documents. Only the original PK passport and biometrics.

I also sent an email to Immigration Office in the UK (charging me £ 5.48) about this, they sent me the following response today.
Dear ABC,
Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about your supporting documents, the following link provides further information regarding your enquiry :

Please note that the onus is upon individual customers to ensure that they satisfy the requirements set out in the guidance material. According to the link they sent it says that all supporting documents must be sent by the applicant's sponsor to the Immigration office in Sheffield UK.
I haven't received any email from the Immigration office to submit any documents at the moment,
Will they contact me to send the documents or do I just send them?

You or your wife needs to send the supporting documents to Sheffield. It is better if your wife sends the documents to you and you send it from the UK.

Make sure to send a paid return package so that they can send the originals back to you.

You only submit applicant passport and biometrics at the Pakistan appointment.

You now have 28(?) days to send the completed and signed application form, Appendix 2, payslips, bank statements and all other evidence to Sheffield.

Make sure you send the documents by Special Delivery. Your documents will be returned to you if you provide a paid for envelope.

Thanks ariamus for confirming this.

I have not been notified that I have 28 days to provide the supporting documents. Where is it stated that we need to send the supporting documents within 28 days?

So you are saying that I have to download this Form (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... -08-18.pdf)

and send with the rest of the supporting documents to Sheffield?

That Appendix 2 form appears it’s the right form, so long as you got it via the Gov.uk website.

The above and all other documents are sent to Sheffield. Including also applicants English test pass certificate and TB certificate.

I applied in 2016 so not sure where it will be stated now, although it was also mentioned on the email that confirmed the Pakistan appointment where the passport was submitted.
