Spouse visa from Germany- Rejected and help required

Post by baskey » Fri Mar 11, 2005 1:51 pm

Hi,

I recently got HSMP extension and now i want to apply spouse visa for my wife in Germany. She already has 1 year visa which was issued when i got the EC and travelled twice to UK but not yet reunited. Did anyone apply before in Germany. It is also possible to apply online but i am not sure about it. But british consulate in Germany is far off from her place and very hard for her to go personally and postal applications takes long time (like in UK ).

1. Is it VAF1 or VAF2 to be used. I am confused as VAF2 says for settlement. Does it come under settlement.?

2. Will she get straight away 3 years in Germany itself or else she will be given only 6 months to reunite and extend it here.

3. I am sending my bank, accomodation , job details, copy of my extension visa and HSMP approval letter. Is there any other document required??

4. Will they ask, why she has not reunited in the first year itself?

Can any one share their views in this issue pls..?

Regards,

Baskey

VAF 1

Likely 3 years but the visa officer has the right to issue a visa for a shorter time period with advice to renew such through the Home Office post UK entry.

Payslips, copy of biodata page of your passport - presumably your spouse has the original marriage certificate? This must be submitted too.

The visa officer can ask any question as appropriate to determine an application - in this case it would be a relevant question pertaining to the subsistence or otherwise of your marraige. If you don't mind me asking is there a particular reason why your spouse has not joined you in the UK during year 1?

Thanks a lot for your answers Kayalami. My wife has not joined me because i came to this country without a job offer and subsequently found a contract job for 1 year and she was/is also working in Germany in equal capacity with long term contract. So now we think of reuniting as my one year contract mostly extended another year. But internally i am still scared to reunit without keeping a permanent or long term offer.

Any way she plans to go and apply personally on 29th and let me post the outcome here.

With regards,

Baskey

Visa officer will likely appreciate your concens - I hope it works out in the longer term for both of you and that you can be together again...lengthy time apart not an ideal envrionment for the institution of marriage :(

Thank you for offering to share your experience - I am sure things will progress well on the day.
