Thai girlfriend visitor visa - help please!

Post by joequin89 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 8:13 pm

Hi, would really appreciate any help/advise on my application

Over the last few months I have been preparing the documents for my girlfriends visa application to visit me in the UK. Here is the background story.

Two weeks into my holiday I met my girlfriend in Thailand. After that we spent six months together in Thailand. I'm 28 and she is 23. She is now unemployed. I have a job, previously worked there for 3 years before i came to Thailand. I will be renting a room in a friends home for six months for her visit. I am sponsoring her visit along with my father as I don't have tons of money saved currently.

I will be sending the documents to her soon and booking her appointment at Bangkok but I have a few concerns.

1. I returned to the UK from Thailand five months ago so I only have four payslips to show.
2. I opened a new bank account when I returned so I only have four months bank statements to show.
3. She is unemployed and lives with parents, I am struggling to think of evidence to show she will return. Even though she 100% will.
4. We are asking for a six month visit, i'm worried it may be to much to ask, would it but more likely to be approved if we ask for three months initially?
5. My dad is retired, he will be showing a bank account and savings account. Will this be enough evidence?
6. What kind of money is expected to be evidenced for a six month visit? We will not be doing anything lavish as ill be working full time during her stay.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, i hope someone can offer me some guidance.

Proof of your girlfriend's ties to her home country, including financial self-sufficiency is crucial to the application succeeding.

6 months is too long for an initial visit.

Thank you very much. Yes I thought six months may be too much to go for on our first application. Can you suggest any examples of what we could use as her ties to her country? as she does not work at the moment she is at her family home and sells a few products online. She does not own land or a car ect. She does have money in a village trust fund though.

Difficult. You need to convince the ECO that she has stronger reasons to return to her home country than she could have with you in the UK.

Sponsorship undertaking form - Question

Post by joequin89 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 5:37 pm

Hello, can someone please help me with this.

I have come across this "Sponsorship Undertaking" form online. Which can be found below.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... p-form.pdf

Is this form mandatory to include with the application? Me and me dad are sponsoring my girlfriends visit to the UK, if required, is it satisfactory that I just complete this form or does my dad need to fill one out as well?

Really appreciate any info you may have for me.

Thank you!

Not required.

Alao please keep your questions on the same application in one topic, now merged.

Ok, sorry about that! Thanks for the reply, do you know if I need to include a declaration paragraph of some sort in the presentation letters?

I wonder if you could answer another question. Is it ok to black out my account information on my bank statements?
