Need advice on first FLR (M) application

Post by butterbeer » Tue Dec 18, 2018 7:38 pm

Hello guys!

It is now the time for us to switch my fiancee visa into a spouse visa since we recently got married. We just completed the flr (m) application form online and it gave us a list of requirements that we should submit. But we are puzzled about some of these requirements (as listed below):

1.Items of correspondence addressed to both of you at the same address as evidence you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together, covering the last 2 years. Items of correspondence should be addressed to you jointly or in both your names. The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole 2 years. They should be from at least 3 different sources. Ifyou do not have enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you. For example - 4 items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and 2 items addressed to each partner at the address. In total 8 items would need to be submitted. If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names to the same address and 2 items addressed to each partner at the address. In total 8 items would need to be submitted. If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names, you will need to submit 12 items (6 each) of correspondence evidencing that you reside together at the same address.
Examples of acceptable items include:
Letters or other documents from
government departments or agencies, for
example HM Revenue and Customs,
Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA,
TV Licensing
Letters or other documents from your GP, a
hospital or other local health service about
medical treatments, appointments, home
visits or other medical matters
Bank statements or letters
Building society savings books or letters
Council tax bills or statements
Electricity or gas bills or statements
Water rates bills or statements
Mortgage statements or agreement
Tenancy agreement(s)
Telephone bills or statements

Problem: I just got here last September so I do not have official documents addressed to me in the same address. I only have 2 delivery receipts from online purchases. I cannot even register to a GP nor open a bank account because I only have a fiancee visa with me. Moreover, my husband's official documents (bank statements, GP letters, etc.) were still addressed in his family home and not here in our current address since he just moved recently. The only official document that we have in joint names is our tenancy agreement. We do not have utility bills nor council tax bills because our rent is inclusive of all charges. Is our tenancy agreement enough as proof that we live together?

2. A letter from relative(s) or friend(s) confirming I or my partner lived with them for some or all of the 2-year period
Is this applicable with us applying for first-time extension?

Hoping for your advice. Thanks a lot!

Ignore both. If you do have anything, even one or two letters, submit them but the long list of docs for 2 years etc is not relevant to you.

Need advice on first FLR (M) application

Post by butterbeer » Thu Dec 20, 2018 12:33 pm

Hello guys!

Would it matter if our address in the marriage certificate is different from our current address? We got married at my husband's hometown (where his parents live and where he previously lives since he transferred to our current address a year ago).. his official docs (like bank statements, GP letters) are still sent to this address.. naturally, we gave our notice of marriage in this council and not in the council of our current address so the address we gave for our marriage certificate is his previous address.. Would that be fine? :(

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

You're overthinking this. It's not an issue.

Hi there!

Sorry I have another question.. Do i still need to submit my bank statements? I currently have no job since I cannot work with a fiancee visa.. I still have money in my bank account in the Philippines though.. We plan to submit only my husband's financial documents..
