Is it too late to switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2?

Post by Helpmeokornot » Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:09 am

Hi all,

I have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from a British university (convocation was in July 2018). I flew back to my home country right after (also July 2018). My BRP card expires on October 2018.

Fast forward, I decided to want to work in the UK which I have never once thought of while I was studying. Is it too late now? It's almost February 2019...

Your Tier 4 expired so apart from English language exemption, you need to start from scratch, i.e. secure job, Tier 2 visa (RLMT applies) from your home country.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

I am not sure why you think you have a deadline for making a Tier 2 application, but you do not.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

I think the query was regarding "switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2" so the deadline on that basis is the tier 4 visa expiry date. That's my interpretation of the question btw.

Yes, no deadline for making a tier 2 application on its own.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
