ILR & Accommodation Do they need proof

Post by chunkybeefsoup » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:09 pm

I have done a search of the forum and this question I believe has not been posed, certainly not recently: Do you need to prove accommodation arrangements ie I live with my parent and wife - do I need a letter from my parent to specify that we can live rent free indefinitely with regards to ILR similar to if I was applying for a spouse visa again? Or will I need to own my own house or rent it?

Thanks.

Proof of satisfying 287, including the Maintenance and accommodation requirements, should be included.

Don't forget to also collect the documents as suggested in form SET(M) and the KOL requirements.

Do you need a letter/house survey for ILR

Post by chunkybeefsoup » Tue Jun 10, 2008 7:13 am

If you are not sure of the credibility of the applicant, you should ask to see a letter from the owner of the property (which may be a housing authority, housing association, landlord or a building society). This should confirm particulars of tenure and occupation of the dwelling, together with a description of the accommodation and, if rented, a copy of the lease.y of the applicant, you should ask to see a letter from the owner of the property (which may be a housing authority, housing association, landlord or a building society). Thanks for your swift reply. Does that mean that you have to go through all the process again of getting a house survey done and a letter from your parents as we did for the spouse visa?

At the very least, your parents should write a letter to confirm particulars of tenure (that there is no objection to you and your spouse staying there indefinitely) and occupation of the dwelling, together with a description of the accommodation, etc. Include the previous house survey if you still have it.
