're entering UK on limited leave to remain card

Quick question for those who have done it... my partner who is from ghana has a ghanaian passport and a UK ''limited leave to remain residence permit card where he had to enrol his finger prints etc. There will be 7 months left on the residence permit card once we are due to return home. Question is can we go on a 10 day family holiday to gran Canaria for 10 days and 're enter the uk with no hassle on return. We won't travel without knowing it's going to be ok and no hassle at the border.
And is having his Ghanaian passport and the limited leave to remain card enough for him to enter the uk after the holiday.

Free to re enter the UK as long as the visa is valid.

Thank you for your reply , have you used a limited leave to remain document and done the same thing? Just asking as some people ive spoke to have said they wouldn't travel as it's not enough to 're enter the uk
