Previous Earnings from two employments query

Post by faisalliaqat » Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:51 pm

Hi,

I want to apply for the Tier-1 from within the UK and need some clarification regarding my previous earnings. I am working full-time at a company since May 2007. To qualify for the earning points required, I worked part-time at another company for 2 months. For some reasons, the second company deducted tax in one month and returned it altogether in the second so the gross and net earnings from there are the same. I asked the tax office about the calculations and they said I will need to send in the P60 from one employer and P45 from the second (as I have already quit that job) for them to calculate whether I needed to pay anything although they said the first employer might have deducted too much tax (from the figures on my P60).

Will that be a problem if I apply for Tier-1 now? I will be submitting the letter from employers and my bank statements as two evidences which match each other. The tax documents are no longer a compulsory requirement for Tier-1 as against the HSMP so I am wondering whether the home office will be checking my tax calculations for the earnings?

I will appreciate anyone having thoughts/suggestions about my case.

Thanks,

Faisal

My thoughts:
As long as the bank statements and the salary slips are matching, I think there should not be any issues with your application. I don't think home office is bothered with your tax calculations at the end of the year.

It'd be better to get more views from people experienced in UK Tier 1 applications with similar cases.
