As per the title of this post,I’m looking for some advice from forum members.
In March of 2018 my non-EU wife, who I married in her native country, arrived in the UK on a spouse visa. I am a British citizen who has lived here his whole life, employed,of good character and who entered into the marriage in good faith.
Upon her arrival here,it came to light she wasn’t who I thought she was;dishonest and her real reason for coming to the UK was purely monetary. After two weeks of her being in the UK,she disappeared and has been untraceable since. She made a false and unproven allegation against me,from which no action was taken, but was a very painful experience for me as I already realised I’d been scammed.
I notified the UKVI dept that we were no longer in a subsisting relationship, and received a letter back stating that due to data protected information held on her,the visa would not be curtailed. I want to divorce her,but don’t have the funds and I’m extremely worried this fraudster will ruin me financially-she’s already cost me everything. UKVI haven’t been helpful at all,and I reported what I knew to them about her being a fraudster.
Does anyone have any advice as to what to do next?
