Marrying Russian fiancee and going to Portugal a month later

Post by Buzzcut » Thu Jun 12, 2008 4:24 pm

Hey All,

I've found some good threads on the Schengen/2004/38/EC topic but this all seems to be applicable to the ILR not the FLR.

I'm getting married on the 19th July and we're going down to Croydon to get the FLR on the 24th. There's also a holiday booked for the 1st Sept to Portugal which she will/won't need a Schengen visa for...not quite sure yet

Judging by these comments from clairey: - http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 5&start=40

as long as we've got the marriage certificate/passports we'll be OK and won't even need a visa, but this depends on the knowledge of the Portuguese border guards and Easyjet letting us on the plane.

So has anyone got any experience of Schengen process from the Portuguese embassy with an FLR i.e. do they accept not filling out the * sections, is it free, do they need loads of proof of travel/hotel/finances etc.

Their website is in Portuguese (as it should be) but there's not even a contact email address to ask someone, I can see a few Visa application companies but the list of documents they require is crazy, even for a spouse of a UK citizen.

As I said at the beginning, I know there are loads of these types of questions but none seem to be about Portugal or having an FLR.

This page says it's pretty straight forward.. http://www.travel-images.com/pt-visa.html

thx..Dan
