For my wife’s first extensjon FLR(M) she has completed a test at an approved centre of Trinity College London and the certificate states:
ESOL is different I guess than Trinity college graded examination in spoken English. According to HO list the level CEFR level A 2 is equivalent to A1 whereas for extension the A2 level is needed. If your same test had CEFR level A 3 from trinity college then it would be equivalent to A2 level.ariamus wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 4:21 pmFor my wife’s first extensjon FLR(M) she has completed a test at an approved centre of Trinity College London and the certificate states:
Graded Examination in Spoken English (GESE)
Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International
Speaking and Listening (Entry 2)
CEFR Level A2.1
@Baloch are you studying st college and received your ESOL 3?
@CR001 Are both references to ESOL above the same or are they different and the certificate fine?

According to the above current HO approved English tests, the following are available:
Graded Examinations in Spoken English
Trinity College London
Level - A1
Minimum Grade Required - GESE Grade 2
Level - A2
Minimum Grade Required - GESE Grade 3
Level - B1
Minimum Grade Required - GESE Grade 5
My wife’s certificate, in full, states:
NAME
Is awarded
Grade 3
Graded Examination in Spoken English (GESE)
Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International
Speaking and Listening (Entry 2)
CEFR Level A2.1
I think as the reference to Grade 3 and A2 matches, this should be sufficient?
Ps. I can’t see there is an A3 test on HO list or Trinity’s website.
