Did INIS asked somebody to send them extra documents for minors application? Like for example with adults they usually ask send extra bills, statements etc.
And i would like to ask about absenteeism in school. My daughter 7 years old was absent 21 days in junior infant. Absenteeism is a problem? Of course i mean in normal numbers, not like 2, 3 months.

In our case nothing extra was asked. Applied in end of May 2018, was approved in Mid November and was asked for pictures and the bank draft, got the Cert at the end of January 2019. Took exactly 8 months. I have no idea about Absentese but in my opinion it doesn’t matter as its not Adult Application. Many of my friend’s kids got their Certificates in last couple of years but nothing extra was asked, only the time frame has increase. Used to be 4-6 months and now is 8-9 months.

Did you ring them? They received my kid application 4th Jan 2019, still nothing from them. I think if your passport more then 6 weeks with them you have to ring and ask. I try to ring next week.

yes they posted on 8th as per their email on 20th and realised i got it on 20th only in post.

Just that I have not received application number or passport back and it’s been 2.5 months

Did they ask you to send them extra documents? One girl said me that she got letter week ago they ask paper from school about absenteeism, from GP with all visits, from child benefit and letter how many time child was abroad and how long. Shock.....

Today got my kid's passport back with Letter that i should send them certified copy of my certificate of naturalization (but in beginning they ask just copy) and letter with all dates when my child was absent in Ireland and why. So, now i see that they started make difficult for kids also. Because in past never ask extra documents.

Dear All,

I submitted the application for my Kids towards end of March 2018. I received a letter asking to submit the passport in May which I did and they returned the passport with in a week.

When I followed up In Nov they responded saying it is being processed and will be submitted to Minister.

No communication since then.
Any one having similar experience?

Hi Praveenc,

That’s bit strange that they took it so long for Kids application. Me, my friend and one more who is here in this forum applied between March & June and we all got ours certs at the end of Jan 2019. Normally it takes between takes 6-10months for kids in my experience.

As the new citizenship Ceremony is in the corner, many of the applications are with the minister so there is a good chances yours is as well so it won’t take it long if that’s the case but if you don’t hear from them in 2-3 wks, you are better of making an enquiry.

I sent my daughter s citizenship application on 25th october 2018. I am naturalised irish citizen.

Acknowledgement along with original passport received on 20th december 2018.

Application approval lettet received on 25th march 2019. Now waiting for citizenship certificate.
