Applied for Tier1 - but need the Passport back urgently

Post by iluvuparis » Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:08 am

hi there,

I applied for Tier1 before 10 days from India. I'm awaiting the results very eagerly, meanwhile i'm now offered from my present company to travel to UK by July 1st.

I should be confirming them abt my availability within a day or two. However, i'm not in a position to confirm because i've included my passport along with the Visa application documents.
Please could you let me know my next action n this...Can i take the possible risk of confirming my availability and keep my fingers crossed, that i wil be getting my passport before July 1st ..given that it is already 13 days (9 working days now).

I called up the VFS no.. but dint get a proper response.. he asked me contact VFS office in person.. i hope i would get a favourable reply in this great forum.. Please help.. At the max, i can extend my dates to one week max.. say july 6th etc..

Hi iluvuparis,

This is a very difficult question and no one would be able to answer this with certainty. I had applied on 8th May and at that time it was taking upto 4 weeks. Now suddenly it is taking upto 6 weeks and I am in a diffcult position to answer my current employer when I can go back to India.

All I can say is that you would be very luck to recv your docs by july 6th. probably you can withdraw this application. You cannot even ask for an urgent treatment as you are not suppose to make any plans until you hear from the BIA.

I know I am not helping, but this is the fact.

AFAIK, there is no provision of "urgent treatment" for Tier 1 applications, unlike HSMP. And BIA UK is not even entertaining urgent requests for HSMP these days.

hi,

just try out this!

Tell you your employer, your passport is at ur native place. you need a day or two to get it.

after a day or two tell them, that you would have lost the passport on the transit, so you need to log a complaint with cops or contact the postal service asking them wr they have delivered.

if you do this, you might get some extension, hope you get ur results fast & then tell you your employer it was returned to my native place because of incorrect address passport.

Let me know if this idea holds good for you!!

iluvuparis,

when you have already applied for tier-1 and have decided to take the plunge, why bother about where and when your emplyer wants to send you? You still need to maintain good relations with him as INTEGRA will verify some details with him but why do you want to withdraw the application?
