Use of Shortage code 2123 for Tier 2 General

Hi,

I have been offered a job basically job title is OLE Design Engineer (Over head Line Equipment Design Engineer) which is closely related to electricity transmission and distribution industry. Employer wants to go for RLMT but am suggesting to use Shortage code Appendix J 2123 Electrical Engineers to save 28 days, obviously they have to change job title as Rail Electrical Design Engineer to match SOC.

Could you please suggest can we use shortage code 2123 straight without changing job title ?? or do they have to change as above?? Also please suggest what should be the minimum salary ??

Shortage code Appendix J 2123 Electrical Engineers to save 28 days, obviously they have to change job title as Rail Electrical Design Engineer to match SOC.

Appendix J SOC 2123 is NOT a shortage occupation. Note that Appendix J is the non shortage occupation SOCs.

The shortage occupation SOC 2123 is ONLY relevant to the below (from Appendix K). If your job/role does NOT match that, you cannot use the shortage occupation and exemption from RLMT.

Only the following jobs in this occupation code:

electrical engineer in the oil and gas industry
The following jobs in the electricity transmission and distribution industry:

power system engineer
control engineer
protection engineer
The following jobs in the aerospace industry:
electrical machine design engineer
