Note that the issue here is that ILR & PR can be revoked if a single absence from the UK exceeds a 2 year period.
Hi all,

This is the first time I bring a question here at Immigrationboards, but I've been checking the posts for a long time and it's just amazing how helpful you guys are!

So, within the subject above, I have gained recently my ILR on the PBS Tier 2 General route after 5 years living and working here in the UK. If at some point I decide to relocate to Europe for work, but keep on coming back to the UK say every fortnight, would I ever loose my ILR?

In other words, does my 2 year period resets every time I enter the UK, even though I wouldn't be permanently living or have ties in the UK anymore?

Many thanks!

No, your 2 year period does not 'reset' every time. Short visits do not necessarily maintain ILR status either.

ILR is granted on the basis of the fact that you are going to live permanently in the UK. It is an indefinite leave TO REMAIN, not to enter at any time. HO can revoke the ILR at any time that it is clear that you are not living here and have no intention to return (no ties to the UK). If you want to go work in Europe and still retain UK ties, apply for a citizenship first.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.

Perfectly understood and, in fact, makes all the sense when put this way. This was just a hypothetical situation I wanted to have clarified.

Many thanks again for the attention!
