Update SOC Code for ILR with current employer

Hi guys

I have been working in the UK since Jan 2015 on tier 2(general) on
"2137 Web design and development professionals" SOC code and this year I received a visa extension under the same code.

I am wishing to get ILR in Feb 2020. However, my salary currently does not meet the threshold requirement needed for ILR. Therefore, I was recently advised my immigration consultants to change my SOC to "3421 Graphic Designers" so I would fall under the shortage list. May i ask:

a) If changing the SOC code to "3421 Graphic designers" is possible and easy for the employers to do? Perhaps via sms system.

b) Will changing the soc code to graphic designer affect my ILR application? Will I need to submit a new application?

c) What happens if the job from NQL 6 is changed to the job at NQL 3 which is on the shortage list. Is this something to be worried about?

d) Is it straightforward?

I am a little confused on how to proceed with changing my SOC and would be grateful to get any advice/guidance.

Your sponsor will need to prove that the role is genuine. They cannot just change your SOC code. If your sponsor can show that the role is real, then you will need to submit another application and meet all the requirements. But I guess any caseworker will handle the application with keen interest and attention to details. What you are trying to do is easier if you are changing employer than within the same company. That does not mean it is not possible. Like I said, the role must be genuine and you must be able to prove that it is
