Zero hours

Post by TJ86 » Fri Mar 22, 2019 12:07 pm

Hello,

I have a zero hours job and I’m wondering if this is ok? I plan to apply for Category A under Non-Salaried.
I will have been with the same employer for over six months in June and will get my sixth pay for early July, all being over £1550. So I know I am alright with that.

It’s just that with zero hours, how can employer state in letter that I will be paid over £18600 in 12 months?
Will it be ok if the letter states that based on the six months of payslips I will be projected to make over £18600? Or, is it fine to leave the annual amount out of the letter and just state the amount I’ve been paid in the last six months?

Thanks.

Zero hour contract should be fine provided the sufficient income is being earned. Employer can state the average of last 6 months wages in employer letter.

Okay, that’s good to know. It just worries me because I haven’t been able to find much information on anyone that has applied on zero hours contract. But with so many people on zero hours it would be unfair not to count it.

I know I could apply after 12 months and just show over £18600, but being away from my wife for even 6 months is very hard so would like to apply as soon as I have the 6 payslips.

HO only care that whether the required threshold is met regardless of type of contract.
