How long will it take to get back passport after Staming

My husband is Uk national and we applied on spouse visa on 25 May 2018 and get appeal in August 2018 . after that Uk embassy asked for bank statement again and revert their decision on 31st Jan 2019, got visa mail after 3 weeks from decision department and asked to submit passport after payment of IHS at Gerrys Islamabad , i have submitted my passport on 4th March 2019 and still waiting to receive it , does somebody help me that how long will it take to get my passport back after stamping , please

Hi Rakhshanda,

We are in the same boat. My wife submitted the passport in Gerry FedEx Lahore on 15th March 2019. Normally people collected the passport in 10 working days (concluded from many forum readings). Say it's in the weeks but months is exceptional.

Yes, Here is update

FedEx phone call: 5th April 2019
Passport collected: 5th April 2019
Entry clearance granted: 9th April 2019 to 9th May 2019
The wife arrived in the UK: 10th April 2019 (After 1.9 year of marriage and we haven't met since then)
Biometric resident permit collected: 13 April 2019
Visa duration: 30 months of 5 years settlement route.

Rakshshanda, I called UKVI in Sheffield last week. They said the process shouldn’t take more than 3 weeks and that they will try to expedite my case because I’ve been waiting for over 2 years since I applied. Maybe you should call them... or get your MP involved.

MoIQ, did the email to submit your passport mention anything about IHS fee? Mine didn’t mention it, despite the fact that my IHS was refunded when my application was initially refused 2 years ago

@Appeal32011 ,yes we emailed them and they charged 6 pounds, finally shefford replied that they have sent inquiry to Islamabad office for confirmation to have my passport with them , once they get info they will processed next step . lets see , but its too frustrating, their process is like punishment for all of us.

The e-mail for the submission of the passport also said to wait for seven working days for IHS payment link to be received. If the link is not e-mailed then follow all instructions given in the e-mail. My wife visa issue place is UKVI Sheffield.

Rakhshanda, Don't be frustrated or speed up your wants. We are living in a matrix world where everything is connected, pledged and affected with other related things direct or indirect. Delay is possible but not too long. Take heart, You will be here very soon and this can be any minute you may receive a phone call from FedEx. You will be here very soon.

Dear MoIQ, thanks for writing back. I have not received any follow up email about IHS payment and there is no instruction on how to pay the IHS in the passport submission email. I don’t know what to do now.

Below is the passport submission email.


The decision to refuse your visa application has been overturned and our office will now proceed to the next stage of your application. To complete this process we require you to undertake the following steps:

1. Please submit your passport to the Visa Application Centre (VAC) where you made your original visa application .

2. Please also submit a copy of this e-mail so that the Visa Application Centre will accept your passport.

3. If you require a TB certificate for travel, please ensure this is up to date and valid.

You will be contacted when a decision has been made and your passport is ready to be collected.

Did they send u IHS payment link before their last E mail for submission of Passport

They did not send any IHS link. It is now 15 days since I submitted my passport. They have not asked me to pay IHS.

Did you pay IHS? And did you pay the old fee of £650 or new fee of £1200?

yes they sent us link of IHS payment and we paid, after tha I submitted my passport with call letter and copy of Emial of IHS payment on 4th March 19 and still waiting, i Think lum sum amount is 1200

Okay. I guess I’ll have to pay £1200 then, even though I paid £650 when I initially applied in 2017! Smh

I contacted the ever incompetent UKVI to get an update on my passport stamping and expedite the case since it’s been over 2YEARS! They said I should continue to wait, and hopefully I should get a response by the 23rd; but if I don’t hear from them by then, I should contact them again. Smh

okay. You’ve been waiting for over 2 months. I think it’s a bit unusual to wait that long. The only person I know from this website, who waited that long, had a criminal history.

I submitted Passport with call letter on 4 March 2019, its almost three months have been passed. yes we contacted them and they reply that in case of withdrawal and checks are currently being carried out in this case again , so when it will be done , i will be contacted from my Visa center... so no idea of time limit. anyways i have no other option but wait , lets see. Needs prayers
