Hello all lovely group members and Admins.......to guide me through the complete ILR application process.....and I was following this group closely from a long time...I would like to share my successful ILR application experience with all...and may be helpful for other members planning to apply soon.

Online application date: 08-Mar-2019 (21:30) (£3019.20)
I had been filling up the Set(o) form online and was all ready towards payment page.. So was helpful.

Bio-metric submission: 09-Mar-2019 (10:30) at Croydon (£100)
All done by 10:55. Only biometric, passport & appointment scanned.

11-03-2019:
No response or email about my application. Called Supra and was informed all application send out and I might hear by 12-03-2019 noon time

12-03-2019:
No response until noon.
Call HO and was advice to wait until 15-Mar-2019 and if no news then call back to escalate 18-Mar-2019. (Not very helpful)

15:36: An email lands in my inbox:

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Good Afternoon,
I am currently assessing your application for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Are the children currently residing with the parents and if so can you confirm the address where they are living and if they are intending to make a dependent child joining application?
Please could you respond to this email as soon as possible with the requested information so we can continue to process your Tier 2 indefinite leave to remain application.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

15:45: I replied to the email

16:43: I got the email I was waiting for: ILR APPROVED !!

Has anyone recently booked a non-priority or priority appointment? How soon could you book one? Any location, but preference for London (Croydon).

Teamtoaster- I booked mine for the following week at Manchester in early February, though I looked at Wakefield which would have been a longer wait. All done non-priority.

I can't seem to find any appointments for Wakefield
I have seen bookings in Manchester might end up doing that...is the price per application or person.

Just for others interested, I applied and the first 'free' appointment (for my priority application) was 6 business days away (in Croydon). (There were paid £100 appointments available the next business day).

I'm not clear if the 10 business days timeframe starts from this date, or when I booked it (as a message came up, for the priority service, saying you should 'try' to attend the appointment within 5 business days, in order for your application to be processed within the 10 business days timeframe).

Also, strangely enough, I did not know this, but it gave me an opportunity to choose between the new system and the old system. I am already here in the UK on a different visa, and applying to switch, so maybe that is why I still had the choice.

For others interested, I need to choose between old and new system, and then couldn't change this decision after. And then, next step, I had to choose between standard/priority/super priority (and pay) before I could even view how soon I could get an appointment.

Does anyone know if you have to scan every single page in the passport even blank pages?

Hi all

We had a good experience with the new system for my wife's family member leave to remain extension.

Old BRP expiry was 20/2/19

Filled out the online form and paid on 12/2/19
Booked regular free appointment on 20/2/19 for 12/3/19 at Croydon
Attended appointment on 12/3/19 and they took biometrics and scanned passport and BRP
No contact received since then
New BRP received yesterday 28/3/19

Opted to use savings as financial proof so very lightweight on uploaded documents. We only uploaded my wife's Indian passport details and photopages and my UK passport photopages plus other mandatory proof and 6 items of joint correspondence.

Hope that helps you all!

You have applied for FLR(FP) private life route and it is well known that these decisions can take up to a year to decide, sometimes even longer.

Who told you that you would get a decision within 6-8 weeks??

Sopra is a third party agent and not HO staff and are likely poorly trained only in the basics. Any advice they give is generic. Their purpose is to do biometrics and check the documents scanned.

It is well know that flr FP applications can take very long, regardless of how you apply.

Is there a trick to get an appointment at local service points? I have been trying for weeks now but there is never an appointment available at my nearest local service points (Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, Chelmsford).

On their FAQ, Sopra Steria say that new appointments become available daily. Is there a trick to catch these "daily appointments" ???

Hi xkcdcode

Have you managed to get an appointment since? I’m in the same boat, been trying to get an appointment in Norwich (my preferred location- I’m getting a BRP to replace my ILR in my old passport due to job changes) and the surrounding areas but to no avail. I rang the premium line (yes £2.50/min) and they said to log in at midnight when a new date is added but frankly that’s not the case at all. I also visited the library but there was no one there, no scanning was happening and the library staff couldn’t help me at all. Anybody else in the same, frankly outrageous situation?

Hi Kaspie,

No, no change. I login multiple times everyday and check for availability in Chelmsford, Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge but no luck yet. I also called the local library (not the official helpline of sepra thieves) and the lady said she didn't know anything about appointments and she has never seen any appointments taking place! I am beginning to think the local appointment centres are just a scam!

Is there anyone here who has gotten an appointment in any of the East Anglia centres???

xkcdcode,

I managed to get an appointment at Norwich! BY LOGGING ONTO THE SITE AT 3.30AM!
First I logged on at midnight till 12.30 but they didn't add a new date (checked against Croydon, so I can see the dates) so I gave up and went to bed thinking I'd try at 6am when I get up. But I woke up at 3.30 so I thought I'd just check, and lo and behold there was ONE new appointment which I had to grab! (It costs £60)

When I went to the MiIlenium library a member of staff looked on their system and told me that they had appointments booked only on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays so my timing was good. I didn't check other locations ie Ipswich, but perhaps you'll have a better chance of getting an appointment this way. It still doesn't make it ok for the Home Office to put us through this nonsense and rob money off immigrants, but hey what can you do? :(

Let me know how you get on! I think once I have my scan done, I'll try and start another thread for other East Anglians about my experience.

Hi, i have booked an appointment for 14th May at Nottingham Library (£60), this is for super priority SET M, for my wife. This was the first available appointment at the time i looked, so i booked it right away. However, is there a possibility to reschedule this appointment to an earlier one if one becomes available, the only option now i see on the booking is 'cancel booking' ?

There is no option for rescheduling your appointment on the website. All you can do (as you said) is cancel and rebook it again, BUT there is a risk that you may even get an appointment which is further away from 14th May. My suggestion would be to stick with 14th May, unless you want to try to luck.

I respect your point of view but this cannot be true as I submitted the same application and on my completed application form it said at the bottom that it will be processed in 8 weeks. The form is literally from the Home Office themselves. FLR FP Private Life. It said 8 weeks.

Did you make your application online? If so, did you download the PDF of your completed form once it was submitted? At the very bottom of the form the Home Office wrote that the processing time takes 8 weeks and I did FLR FP Private Life. Not everyone's application takes 1 year don't worry and don't panic.

Hello all, I uploaded all my documents prior to my appointment next week. I also paid for the document checking service. Do I have to bring copies of my uploaded documents to my bio-metrics appointment?
