Hi,
My wife had treatment after seeing a gp about her stomach. She was given an appointment to have a endoscopy and colonoscopy at a hospital. We was not charged or given any fees. This was in September 2017.
In April 2017 new regulations were made requiring all hospitals to check upfront whether patients are eligible for free NHS treatment. This was for plans to recover the cost of health treatments provided to patients not ordinarily resident in the UK.
As I said, we was not told of any costs or fees. And would not have had the tests done if we had to pay thousands of pounds.
How does this affect the application? Shouldn’t it be ok, as we wasn’t told of costs or sent a fee to pay, and as states in the new regulations that the hospitals need to check and make a decision?
Thanks
