Query regarding tier 2 to ILR

Post by Sabi% » Thu Apr 04, 2019 12:23 pm

Hi,
I was sponsored by my company and got tier 2 visa in October 2013. However, as I had told about intention to travel to india for wedding and needing long leave for the same, they gave me a start date of February 2014. I am planning to apply for ILR in April 2019 and 5 year counting period goes back to March 2014. Do I need to show my absences from UK just for 5 year counting period or since I got the tier 2 visa? If so, do I need to show proof of absence for every absence? I will have employer letter for absences since I started employment but what proof should I show for before that? Do I need a letter from HR stating that they had approved a later start date to allow me to go for my wedding? There was a 4 month gap since my visa and start date, but employer had no issues. Do I need anything to support this?

P.S- I entered UK in 2010, had student visa, then post study visa and switched to tier 2 in 2013. Do I need to show my absences from UK since 2010? On ILR application form they ask for date when you first entered Uk and absences since you first entered UK?

You need employer letter for all UK absences within the 5 years of Tier 2
