If the child was born abroad, then they will qualify to apply for citizenship once EITHER parent is also apply or is already British.

What are the current nationalities of the child and of the two parents?

Thanks for your reply. Child was born in the UK and never left UK. Child is 6yrs+ and gotten PR effective on his 5th birthday. mother as EEA residence card and father is a student.
Child will have an entitlement to register as a British citizen when at least one parent acquires PR or settled status.
