Tier 2 Renewal for 2 years only

Hello Admins,

I have going to complete 3 years on Tier 2 General visa by 26th April 2019. My employer is about to renew before that. The IHS has been increased to 400 per year now. i.e 1200 for 3 years. I was wondering if its possible scenario to extend only for 2 years instead of 3 years. Starting 27th April 2019 to 27 April 2021 . Since by end of 5 years I can apply for ILR. Can someone suggest if its a good/bad idea please. Its a calculated risk so that I can apply for ILR 28 days before completing 5 years - i.e around 1st April 2021.

I am not too fussed about extra IHS for another year, I am curious to know if someone has thought if this.

You can extend for 2 years. It depends on the length of Cos your sponsor assigns.
