What is the issue date in 2013?

To be honest, its upto you if you want to spend your money on a lawyer.
If you search this forum, many members have posted their documents/experiences/questions regarding Tier 2 General. If you want, you can benefit from them, read the guidance and the new online form is pretty simple.

Sorry, the issue date on the passport is 9 April 2013.
On BRP 13 April 2013.

You will need some extra docs for your 17 year old (16 +) and 19 year old (independent life)

Read page 41 onwards:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... .0-EXT.PDF

You also need cohabitation docs for your partner.

Thank you. And yes I’m aware that I have to submit 2 documents as proof of cohabitation for both my children and my wife, ie bank statement, letter from school, council tax bills. I already have these documents.

Thank you. 😊

Tier11417,

I’m sorry , but just a quick question - I’m so ready to submit my application through Super Priority service like you have suggested, but I’ve read horror stories that some people have to wait days and even weeks to get their result from Home Office even though it’s supposed to be a day service. Not forgetting that some people only get their appointments after days of submitting their application.

I’m worried if the whole process dragged on until my wife and sons’s BRP expired (13 April 2019) - which is less than 20 daysfrom today.

Without me getting my iLR approved, can I still submit ILR application for my wife and my sons?

What do you reckon the best thing to do?

Thank you very much. Really appreciate your help.

And another thing, I just stumbled across a small typo on one document provided by my company’s HR (the month of a date wrongly typed) , can i still submit the application and book for my appointment, and bring the corrected version during the appointment later?

Really appreciate if anyone could clarify this tonight as I really need to submit and book my appointment ASAP.

Thank you in advance..

Hopefully you should get a decision before that. Anyways you still can apply for your dependents extension regardless of your ILR approved or not by then. Its just that the decision on their application will be made after a decision is made on your ILR first.
Yes some have waited for days or weeks. But many got it in 24 hours with super priority. Hope for the best. Hope you get it in 24 hours!! Goodluck

That should be okay. You can upload documents before your appointment. If you plan to get a corrected document before appointment should be all okay.

Best to add a short cover letter stating you will apply for your dependents visa later on before their expiry and register your UK born children after your ILR. That will save you any delays incase HO wants to ask you about it and wastes some days.

As I said I hope you will get your ILR soon. But note you have to apply for dependents before 13th April before their expiry regardless. (except UK born children)

Dear Tier11417,

I have managed to book an appointment at Croydon Premium Service Center this coming Tuesday 2 April.

I have all the documents ready - scanned and uploaded. Anyhow, I know this is very last minute, but I have a question regarding the cover letter.

Since I’m applying ILR for myself first, should I mention that I will be applying for my wife and son as dependants, my 19 year son as separate applicant after I got my PR status granted. I know that I should mention about registering my UK born children in the letter.

Below is my cover letter. Do you think I have mentioned everything that I should? Is there anything else I should add?

And just one more thing please, what set should I use when applying for my dependants after I’ve granted my PR status? Is it set O? I know for my 19 year old son , I should use set M.

Thank you very much for your assistance (again).

Dear Sir/Madam,

Application for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK

I, XXXXXXXXX wish to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK. After I was granted permanent resident’s status, my wife and my 17 year old son will then apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) as my dependants. My 19 year old son also will be applying for ILR as a separate applicant. I will also then register my three UK born children as British citizens, as stated under Section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act. I have continuously lived in the UK from 24 April 2013 under the Tier 2 (General) category, CoS reference numbers are XXXXXX and XXXXXXX (extension) as stated in the employer letter. Prior to this I have lived in the UK under Work Permit (reference number: XXXXXX) from 13 September 2005 to Jun 2010.

Absence from UK:
In the past 5 years I have been absent from the UK only for 257 days in total. I have provided a detailed schedule on this. Also, I am submitting my employer letter confirming the nature of these occasions of travel outside UK.

Knowledge of language and life in the UK:
I have passed the IELTS test in March 2013.
Both my wife and I have passed the Grade 5, GESE B1 from Trinity College London. Our son also has passed the same GESE test. Original pass certificates are attached,
My wife, our son, and I have passed the Life in the UK test. Pass certificates are submitted as evidence.

Section 12A – Your Finances:
I am submitting pay slips and bank statements for the past 3 months under Section 9A. The same can be considered under this section as well.

I trust the information I have provided is satisfactory. To keep the application simple, I have only submitted the supporting documents that are essential in my opinion. However, today I am carrying various other additional documents ready for submission should you have any queries.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
No. All you dependents will apply on SET(O)!!
Why SET(M) for 19 year old? 🥴
You mentioned SET(M) in your post.

Yes in the beginning, I thought it was set M. But after rereading the terms again, I know it’s a set O.

Re: Confusion regarding start date on Set O ILR

Hi again,

I have a new problem, and hope Tier11417 or anyone here can help me.

I have submitted my ILR through Super Priority service 5 days ago, and today i received an email from the UK Visa that my application is under consideration.

As I quote the email, “ on our record, you have been granted the last leave to remain including your four children”.

The thing I have never applied for ILR before, I have only applied for the BRP for my kids, wife and me in 2016.

And the letter continues , “ As the Home Office is dedicated to protecting the safeguard and interests of these children, we therefore would ask that you now confirm the whereabouts of these children and provide a reason for why we have not received an application for them.”

I didn’t include everyone in the application as Super Priority service is costly. I will apply for my family after I was granted PR.

So what should I do now? From my understanding, I would have to submit proof that they are still living with me and that I will apply for them as soon as my PR is granted.

The other problem is my wife and my kids’ BRP will expire next week 13 April 2019.

Should i proceed and submit the ILR application for them anyway before getting a reply from UK Visa? (Was planning to submit it today or latest tomorrow, I was just waiting for the confirmation of my PR to arrive).

Any inputs/suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Its a generic email asking about your dependents. Just reply stating that you will apply for your dependents before their expiry via standard service and register your Uk born children as British Citizens after your ILR is sorted. I think they did not go through your cover letter. This is a standard protocol email. Just reply as above. Make sure you apply for your dependents before 13th regardless if you get your decision or not. Once you reply the email your decision should be quick.
You can wait and apply for them on 12th April(before expiry). I am hopeful you will get a decision this week after you reply to the email.

Thank you for your quick reply Tier11417. You are very helpful, as always. 👍

I’m replying to their email as we speak. I really want to just proceed with my wife and sons’ applications ASAP, but I will wait maybe until Wednesday for UKVisa’s response. If there’s no response from them, I will submit the application on Wednesday - which is 3 days before their BRPs will expire.

Can’t sleep thinking about this. Am really hoping they will response quickly ( which is tomorrow) after I send them the reply.

Thanks again for your input.

Or maybe I will wait until the last day and the only submit the application for my family as you have suggested.

It’s just that- it’s so nerve wracking to wait.. but if it’s for the best, then I will wait.
