Company name change affects COS extension

Hi,
Our company is occupied by a different group, They are in the process of changing the company name. Home office updated that this process will take upto 8 weeks.

My visa is about to expiry on May end,They are unable to apply for a COS extension from old license because Home office have held this. New company license may take upto 8 weeks to approve. If the new company license is delayed/rejected for any reason, How to deal with this situation ?
