MN1 visa for my new born child

I have applied MN1 - to register my child as a british citizen, for my new born child on 05/12/2018 (submitted online application) and biometrics done 11/12/2018. We did not receive any Acknowledgement letter and its nearly 4.5 months. Can I write a letter to ask them about it or wait for the 6 month processing time. Any valuable help please.

MN1 is not a 'visa' as your heading states.

What is the immigration history and status of the parents??

Presumably the child is UK born??

Did you apply through the new UKCVAS service for biometrics or did you post the supporting documents?
