visitor visa refused

Post by amserve » Sat Jun 21, 2008 7:09 pm

Hi

I sponsored my brother-in-law to come to the uk on a visit visa, its been refused. The ECO does not believe its a genuine visit.

He has visited me previously and returned to home country on time, i.e. has a good immigration history, and he is very financially stable in his country so i cannot understand why he has been refused.

Will appeal, anybody know how long before the hearing ?

Any ideas much appreciated

Hi elias,

Appeal has been lodged in pakistan. How can we ask the bhc to review/reconsider our application ? ALso, instead of waiting 4-5 months is it possible to re-apply instead, i.e. a fresh application ? how would that bear on the upcoming appeal ?

thanks in advance

It would be helpful if you could post what exactly it says in refusal letter censoring all the personal details.

You can write to the Entry clearance manager at the post to reconsider the application.

Yes, you can. Nothing stops your brother in law from re applying but remember he needs to pay fees everytime he applies regardless to the outcome of application. Instead, prepare well and apply giving no chance for an entry clearance officer to reject the application.

Why not appeal in the UK?

My own experience is that you get GENUINE consideration via the AIT appeals system.

If its a solid, legit, genuine case - you'll get your visa.

And you can represent your relative - makes for a more impassioned and personalised case.
