UK visit visa for widowed mother

Post by ankit_3108 » Thu Apr 25, 2019 12:51 pm

Hello all,

I would like to seek some advice on visitor visa for my widowed mother. My father passed away at the age of 59 last year. My mother only has me and my sister as close family now. I am on a spouse visa living in the UK for the last 2.5 years and soon apply for FLR(M) to extend my stay. My wife is a british citizen by birth. My sister in going to get married soon. Can I apply for a visit visa for my mother to stay with me for 6 months every year. She has 2 properties in India on her name. She also gets a decent pension of Rs 45,000 as my father was a government employee in India. My mother is going through a very tough time since my father passed away and the only way for me to help her is by getting her to stay here in the UK with me for 5-6 months every year. Please advise.

Thank you all in advance.

A lengthy stay of 5 to 6 months each year may well be considered by the Entry Clearance Officer as residing in the UK rather than 'visiting'

Thank you for your quick reply Casa. I was worried about the same thing you mentioned. Is there no way possible to do it. My mother has two properties on her name and gets a decent pension and therefore is not financially dependant on me. She has her brother and sisters all living in India. But she wants to spend a significant time with me every year.
Thank you
