Visitor Visa Bank Statement

Post by expat007 » Tue Apr 30, 2019 11:47 am

Hello Everyone,

I have a current application for a Standard Visit Visa to the UK, i'm pre-biometrics & not uploaded any documents yet, but post-application stage, meaning I can't change any answers in my application.

I've been reading a lot about Bank Statements and I a have a huge concern:

- I have got a 6 Months Bank Statement up to April 1st 2019 ( Today is 30th April 2019 ) , my appointment for Documents upload + Biometrics is due in a few days.
- I have stated 2 things in my application as follows:
Q- Do you have another income or any savings? A: Savings
Q- How much money do you have in savings (in GBP)? A: XXXXX ( this XXXXX amount is exactly the same as showing on my Bank Statement as of April 1st 2019)

My Questions are as follows:

1- Will the ECO wonder or ask why I haven't provided a Bank Statement that is newer than a month back now?
2- Will providing NEWER UP TO DATE Bank Statement that has a bigger Amount than the one I mentioned ( I Received a Bonus from my Company + My salary has been deposited) pose a big problem that amounts to false information?

The stupid question was unclear and I just entered the one matching my Bank Statement that my Bank Issued without asking me about dates.

Please let me know what's the best action to tackle this now:

1- Cancel my current application and get a refund and then create a new one?
2- Proceed with my current situation of answers and "Oldish" Bank Statement.
3- Get a "Newer" Bank Statement that shows the bigger amount of savings and risk contradictory information because I didn't fully understand the question on the application .

Please tell me your best advice knowing that I certainly DO NOT want to risk refusal over such silly misunderstanding of procedures.

Hello,

If your bank statement is dated 1st April then it'll be out of date tomorrow.

However, if you have already completed and submitted your online application (a few days back), then this will be fine as it's within 30 days.

The bank statment needs to be within 30 days of the application and not VFS Global appointment date.

Thanks for the reply Jhelumi , much appreciated.

My application with the aforementioned information was completed and submitted on UKIV website on April 29th and on that day, I was directed to VFS Global for appointment.

What do you think? Would it sound fishy for the ECO?

I was completely unaware of this fact since it wasn't mentioned in the Visitor: supporting documents guide ..... can you point me to where is it mentioned please?

Thank you

I stand corrected, it is 28 days and not 30 days.
3.3.8. Where Appendix FM-SE requires the applicant to provide specified evidence relating to a period which ends with the date of application, that evidence must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application.

Thank you for this.

So that means mine will not work out since it ends at 1st and my application date was 29th ..?

Do you think a new Bank Statement up to 10th would be fine and within the time-frame?

I cannot say. Others on the forum, please suggest.
