A question about entering into the UK with DES visa

Post by chswallow » Sat May 04, 2019 4:58 pm

Now I am holding the Doctorate Extension Scheme (DES) visa which will be expired on 31 July 2019. I plan to go to the US to attend an academic conference around the end of May and will stay there for around 11 days, which means I will be back at the beginning of June. I want to inquire that will it be risky for me to enter into the UK again since my current will be expired after two months and at the end of July I am eligible to apply for the long residence visa?

No issue as long as you have a valid visa.

Because my DES visa will be expired after two months and they can see that at the end of July I have been in the UK for ten years. Will it be possible that the UK border agency think about my immigration purpose and not allow me to stay in the UK for the rest two months?

I heard many cases that the border agency didn't allow the people who were holding the visa which will be expired soon (within three months) to enter into the UK again. So I am just worried about this.

You are overthinking this.

You are free to travel and enter the UK as long as you have a valid visa and your visa conditions are still continuing.
