Leave to Remain 10 year partner route

Post by Empress Cherie » Sun May 05, 2019 10:21 pm

Hi all,

I am new to immigration board and I am not sure if I posting in the right place. Please point out if I am not.

I am a British citizen and will be attending University this year. My husband, who is a Barbadian citizen would like to come to the UK to live with me.

The problem is, we do not meet the financial requirements. We are hoping to apply via the 10 year route. However, our research has proven to be ambiguous.

We have been told by some persons that my husband can not apply via this route as he would have to already be in the UK to do so. Others say he has to apply from outside the UK.

Your guidance and any information on this process will be greatly appreciated!

The 10 year FLR(FP) partner route is not open to those seeking entry into the UK.

Thank you for your response. Under what circumstances can a person apply for a 10 year partner route?

On gov.uk it alluded that if a person did not meet the financial requirements under the 5 year route that they could apply for the 10 year route.

Could you explain further?

Thanks in advance.
