Tier 2 ICT or Tier 4 dependent visa

Post by senti » Mon May 06, 2019 4:28 pm

Dear all,
Question about what visa I should apply for.
I'm currently out of UK, and am discussing with my company to go to UK for 6 month or 12 month internal mission.
My wife has been studying in UK with Tier 4 student visa and has 2 more years from now.

I guess the typical way is my company applies for Tier 2 ICT visa, at least from the visa name it seems the right one.
But from what I read in the forum, there is a 12 month cooling period if I decide to change company during mission and move to Tier 2 general visa, which means I will separate with my wife for 12 months.

If I apply for Tier 4 dependent visa, I can still work as my company's internal mission?
Also if during mission I change company to get Tier 2 general visa there is no cooling period?
Am I understanding these correctly?

Thanks a lot

Today a colleague said it shouldn't matter for the company if I hod Tier 2 ICT or Tier 4 dependent visa, as long as I can work for the company.

I'm not sure he knows the details about immigration, so hope someone here in the forum with more knowledge could provide some insights.
Thanks a lot!

What do the experts here think is the best way to have a clear view on this?
Should I use a paid service? Is there any recommendation for such service?
Thanks a lot!!
