Congrats for your approval Ayesha. It will be more better to reply your queries if you mention the categories from where you claimed the points for HSMP. This will help us to sort out your situation for EC. Not all the cases are treated in routine by embassies. It is also worth mentioning that from which country you have to apply for EC.

A lot actually depends on what your plans are e.g about the UK exams, how and when do you plan to do this, are you going to be doing any work, how are you going to support yourself financially during the time when you are not working. where are going to be staying or what plans do you have for accommodation. I am not sure if you have to mention much about your current job, I guess you have to adequate plans in place as to when you are going to leave your job, notice periods etc. It would be nice of course to travel at the same time with your husband so Ideally you should apply for EC at the same time, but you have to bear in mind now that whatever costs you are going to incur when you are staying in the UK prior to you starting work will be higher once its for two people, of course if you have substantial savings and a good and realistic action plan then you should not worry about it. Remember though that in your action plan your husbands income should not be used as the main source of your income, in other words you can support him but he cannot support you, all in all I don’t believe you will encounter problems at EC, I think the fact that give 50points for being a Dr in the HSMP will probably mean they are less strict when it comes for EC of doctors, that is my opinion anyway and I am not in that category, it will be nice to hear from other doctors who went thru the process

EC QUES SENIORS MEMBERS PLEASE REPLY!!

Post by ayesha khan » Wed Mar 23, 2005 3:17 pm

my father in law has a friend in uk where we wil be staying untill we will arrange our own flat.
i hav a joint account witht my husband which i will show to support myself in uk.my husband is a sharing partner of his family business here,so this we will show as source of income till we clear the uk exams.it will take atleast six months to clear the exams & 3months for finding a job.bcos it is very difficult to find a job as a doctor & we both r doctors.
now my question is that is it okay if i show my joint account plus my father in law account for funds?i dont hav my personal account to show?do i need any affidavit of support from my in laws or showing only the bank statements r enough?
do i hav to send current job letter of my husband?or only mine is enough?
is it okay if my husband is supporting me during the time of our study?
seniors members please reply
thanks
