Tier2 dependent application

Hello, I'm currently on a tier 2 visa and recently got married abroad.
Since my visa expires in just a few month time, I would like my wife to apply for dependent visa when I renew my tier2.
My question is can I apply for dependent visa while I extend my visa?(since she is not on my current visa).
And is there anything that I need to do beforehand now that I got married?
