Can I 100% use date of issue to calculate ILR ?
PBS Tier 2 Dependent Visa Valid From Date : 21/08/2014
PBS Tier 2 Dependent Visa Valid To Date (Last extension) : 17/07/2019
1st Entry Date in UK : 26/10/2014
1. Which date to use for calculating 5 years, Date of Visa Issue OR Date of Entry into UK ?
2. When is the earliest can I apply for ILR ?
Someone told me (if I understood it correctly) that RULES were different before January 2018, so PBS dependents who are issued visa before Jan 2018 are going to use Date of Entry as starting point to calculate 5 years.
Please advise and thank you for your so valuable time.

Visa issue date minus 28 days
Any visa issued after 11 January 2018 is subject to absences check.

I was under the impression that it is the visa issue date and not the date of entry?

You don't have acces to private messaging.
Strange how at least one other user has the almost identical questions, tier 2 dependent visa and visa and entry to UK dates as yourself!!

It's not strange, in fact it's more likely for people living at same place having same circumstances and questions then otherwise.

Where on all the paperwork does one find the Date of Issue. Would this be the Date of Issue on the BRP?

You should start your own topic please.
It would be the original visa issue date, either the visa vignette if applied out of the UK or the BRP if applied within the UK.
