Apologies if this has been covered, but I was wondering, for anyone has recently applied for a UK settlement visa from the US and had to send their passport to VFS New York, how long did it take for them to send your passport back once they stamped it?
We weren’t given all of the information we needed about sending the passport, as in, when to send it and where, but we were told after 12 weeks that a decision had been made on my husband’s application and then heard nothing further for a month, when I complained to them. He finally got the information he needed about sending off his passport and it arrived in NY last Tuesday.
I’d just like some idea, if possible, if how long it should take for my husband to get his passport back so we can find out the decision and make plans. I’m suffering more mentally, which has brought on a Crohn’s flare from the extra stress and I can’t cope anymore. I love my husband so much and need him with me. I haven’t seen him for over a month now and our lives are on hold still because of this ridiculously complicated procedure.
I’d really appreciate it if any of you kind people out there could help me with this.
