**Tier 2 General** Entry clearance valid date

Post by candiceli423 » Wed May 15, 2019 2:28 pm

Hello,

I know this question might have been asked but have seen different answers online. When I apply for Tier 2 visa more than 1 month before my intended start date, when does the 30 day window start counting? Will they consider my intended arrival date or does it begin as soon as they approve the visa? I am asking because I need to travel for 2 weeks before I arrive in UK so would like to apply for visa earlier.

Thank you!

when does the 30 day window start counting?

Often from date of application decision and in line with your CoS.
Will they consider my intended arrival date
Sometime yes, they take this into account but also inline with your CoS.
does it begin as soon as they approve the visa?

Often this one, you would then have to get the visa vignette corrected if you made it VERY clear in your application what your intended date of travel is.

Thank you for your reply! When you say in line with CoS, do you mean the start date of work dates in CoS? It is 2 days after my intended arrival in that case. Sounds like there is a chance they will issue the vignette bit too early ..

Should be ok to do that. Fingers crossed UKVI note the date of travel and issue it accordingly.

With UKVI, it sure is. If they misprint the dates and it is their error, the correction should be done free of charge.
