Direct British passport or Registration

Post by sabi27 » Wed May 22, 2019 9:43 pm

Hi all,

Searched through the forum but couldn't find this info.

My little baby was born on 17th of May. I got my ILR on 21st May. Do I need to do her registration for BC or can I directly apply for her British passport?

Also if you can guys can provide a link to the relevant process that I need to follow?

Many thanks,

As child was born before you gained ILR then registration via MN1 is necessary (even as it was only a few days difference).
See guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... 1-guidance
Passport can be applied for after registration approved.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I am looking at the online application for registration of a child under 18 and it does not really make sense. Do I need to submit it on baby's behalf or should I log it as being the father?
I have also looked at the form you sent in the link above which really makes sense but it seems I can't use it if registering within the UK.

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
