What happens to settlement visa in case of divorce?

Post by Jon.Mason » Sat May 25, 2019 7:34 pm

If someone comes to the UK on a settlement visa and then they divorce, does a person need to immediately leave the country, or do they have time to reapply for a different type of visa? Would they need to apply for their visa from UK or their home country?

If the couple have children together, and the children have british nationality, what options does the non british parent have in case of divorce?

In case of relationship breakdown the sponsor have to inform to HO who will curtail the spouse visa to 60 days. However, if there is a British child then non-UK/EU national partner may apply for FLRFP visa from UK.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
