Dependant after marrying to English citizen

Post by confuseddesi123 » Mon May 27, 2019 10:34 am

Hi,
I am currently working on Tier 2 ICT visa and visa end date is around may 2020.
I am planning to marry a British citizen.
What are the rules and policy to apply of dependant to my English partner?
Is it possible to switch my tier 2 ICT visa to dependant within UK itself?
If anyone can assist with some guidelines or website as well.

Thank you in advance!

Yes, if you meet all the requirements.

You and your partner will need to give 28 days notice to an HO approved Registry office of your intent to marry. They notify HO and the notice period could be extended to 70 days for HO to investigate and/or interview each of you separately, before granted permission to marry.

So you are no longer looking at Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa??

Ideal timeframe to apply for Spouse Visa

Post by confuseddesi123 » Wed May 29, 2019 10:57 pm

Hi,
I am currently on tier 2 ICT long term visa and planning to get married to a British citizen.
If we plan to get married on 04 July 2019 then when is the ideal time to apply for Spouse visa?
Can I apply immediately by 15 July 2019? Or I need to wait for few months?
Is there any criteria that spouse visa can be applied after certain duration of marriage?
Cheers!

You can apply as soon as you are married if you meet the requirements

Have you given 28 days notice at an HO approved Registry yet??

Whom do we need to give a 28 days notice?
Is it necessary to provide this notice because I am an immigrant and my partner is British?
When we give notice to this registry office do they have rights to reject the marriage request or it is just an FYI to them?

Yes it is necessary because you are an immigrant wanting to marry a British citizen.

You have to give notice at an HO approved Registry office. They then inform HO and this notice period can be extended to 70 days for HO to investigate and/or interview each of you separately. Only once HO give give the go ahead, can you then get married.

It is not the registry who decides yes or no, it is HO.
