Lost job after IFLR is underway

Post by wilsono92 » Thu May 30, 2019 2:06 pm

So I started my Indefinite Leave to Remain Application online, paid for it and booked my appointment with UKVCAS and submitted my documents. It's all being processed as we speak. However, I was made redundant from my job just before I submitted my documents! I have four weeks paid leave so I'm technically still employed. So what I want to know is, do I need to inform them that I no longer work for that company after my gardening leave? And this shouldn't affect my visa application should it, as my partner earns three times the threshold amount anyway

Lastly, as my old visa has now expired (as you can only apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain 28 days before your visa expires), assuming I will be able to get a new job no problem as my current visa status just "rolls" on until my Indefinite Leave to Remain is decided. This is how it worked on previous visas...

Thanks!

Your existing spouse visa conditions continue while HO process your SET(M) ILR application.

Whose income did you rely on to meet the requirements for ILR, yours or your partners?

You will likely find it difficult to get a job without a valid visa. Employers would be reluctant to take a risk.

So on my application, my partner and myself were both working. I met the requirements on my own salary and my partner also met the requirements on his salary. So we do meet the threshold on just his salary.

Whose salary evidence did you submit?

When did you apply and what service did you choose, standard or super priority?

So the application was based on both our salaries. Each salary was over the threshold.

When did you apply and what service did you choose, standard or super priority?
I submitted my online application and made the payment on the 1st May. Submitted my documents Thursday 23rd May. It was standard service.

Standard applications can take up to 8 weeks, sometimes a bit longer.
