Maintenance fund for dependent proof

Post by anassadek » Thu May 30, 2019 10:25 pm

i have received visa tier 1 and now need to apply for my dependents and was wondering if this statement by UKVI means that we can use my spouse bank account to apply as dependents?

. If the Tier 1 Migrant is outside the United Kingdom or has been present in the United Kingdom for
less than 12 months, you must show that you, the Tier 1 Migrant, or (for children) your other parent
have at least £1890 to support you; this is in addition to any funds the Tier 1 Migrant needs to
prove they have enough money to support themselves.

Let me clarify:
I used my bank account to prove I have the maintenance amount and I got the tier 1 visa.

Now my wife and children want to apply as dependants, but we want to use my wife's account to proof we have the money .
Can we use her bank account to apply for the dependants visa for HER AND THE CHILDREN, Although she is not the main Applicant.

I was told by my immigration CONSULTANT that this was not possible. But the ukvi statement is clear . Is this a new rule?

When you are applying for your wife and children, you wife is the main applicant.

You obviously extracted the latest UKVI rule. UKVI is not in the habit of having unpublished new rules.

Thanks Marc, so you are saying my interpretation is correct: My wife (dependent) can use HER bank account when applying for her TIER 1 dependent visa to prove the maintenance funds for her and my children(also dependents) ?
