Staying outside india

Post by mediniku » Sat Jun 01, 2019 12:12 pm

Good Morning,

I am being sponsored T2 General visa by my employer.
What is longest amount of time I can stay outside UK if I don't want to apply for ILR later. What happens if I take fully remote job and work outside UK for long time.

Absence of 180 days in any 12 month period makes you ineligible for ILR. Note it is any absence, single or many days taken at different times.

Note also that if you leave the UK, your Tier 2 sponsor must inform HO and your visa will be cancelled. You will then be subject to the 12 month cooling off period before you can apply for Tier 2 General again.

If you leave the UK and are no longer working in the UK, your sponsor must inform HO and your visa will be cancelled.

If you are no longer employed to work in the UK your Sponsor must report this to UKVI. If you are actually being posted to another country for 12 months you can return as a Tier 2 migrant in any event so all a bit of a moot point really.
